Monkey Gun new Line Up!
Monkey Gun lifers Ian Kennedy & Chris Lea have been joined by old-timer Kev Wynne and new recruits Shaun Canning on lead vocals, Pete Lea on Guitar and Simon 'Frankie' on keys.
Monkey Gun are establishing themselves as a must see local band. With a big sound and a choice of Classic Rock - by the likes of Thin Lizzy, Judas Priest, AC/DC, Aerosmith, Whitesnake and Van Halen - complimented strangely by songs from Abba, The Bee Gees and Hot Chocolate!!! Albeit deconstructed somewhat and rocked-up, proving to be live favourites nonetheless!!!
Blues rooted staples fron Free and Gary Moore are performed alongside intense, powerful and almost brutal Monkey Gun versions of Black Sabbeth and Deep Purple covers.
Most bands claim to be 'unique' and 'different'. In Monkey Gun's case, it is true. As stated above, some songs from the set list are not obvious or immediate rock classics, but they are classic songs in their own right and tunes that everyone will know. With the Monkey Gun treatment they are given a sound, style and life of their own.
